Bee's Guilty Pleasures
bruce springsteen, billy joel & pat benatar
gill sans font (i am currently obsessed with converting all my PhD research into gill sans – time consuming but i can pretend it’s work!)
anything by the herskowitz/zwick/w.g. snuffy walden team
going to planet organic on the sly and purchasing random overpriced face creams, soaps, quinoa or anything for 34p
charity shop pootling
drinking a glass of chardonnay & reading vanity fair in the bath
watching reality bites/singles/almost famous and pretending i am bridgit fonda/winona/kate hudson
re-reading jay mcinerney’s ‘story of my life’ – (“i’m like, i don’t believe this shit, i said to skip pendleton”) - so class
green & blacks dark chocolate – way better than lindt. currently only on 1 bar a week which leaves room for…
jelly beans, jelly babies, cola bottles and generally anything gummy
buying peonies, even though they cost an arm and a leg
a nice cup of tea and a sit down

i can't post in gill sans i'm afraid but i changed it to arial which is sans serif and not too far off.
ReplyDeleteI think i know one pat benatar song...is it on the pretty in pink or breakfast club soundtrack? remind me please, bee or sal.
gosh where do i begin? love is a battlefield, heartbreaker, shadows of the night, hit me with your best shot, we belong...i could go on...
ReplyDeletedo you mean love is a battlefield? loooove that song.
ReplyDeletere. green and blacks - no comparison i'm afraid. lindt is much better and also thinner so you can get away with eating more!
x
We are young, heart ache to heart ache we stand, no promises no demands, both of us knowing...love is a battlefield. Just added the best of PB to my i-pod.
ReplyDeleteCan't beat a bag of Haribo once in a while.
i'm afraid you'll find that our dark chocolate kicks our competitor (snort!) lindt's 70% butt. our chocolate has a more authentic 'muddy' flavour that cacao should have plus it's thicker, therefore more bang for your buck.
ReplyDeletep.s. we here at G & B also adore 'love is a battlefield' and pat benatar in general.
Immediately strong and full-forward on the palate, this is a chocolate that presents no subtleties to the taste buds. The initial flavor is chocolate, very beautiful in its simplicity and deep in its impact. The acidity is not shy and quickly mounts to take on a fruity demeanor of blackberries and red currants. It gradually increases as the length progresses, and the chocolate coats the mouth thickly and delivers a fuller body all around. Intensely fruity yet bold with its chocolatiness, this bar certainly delivers what it promised. Finally, the length ends with an even stronger red flavor and before hazelnuts and coffee finish everything off. The finish is just as strong as the length and lasts for a good while after the melt, which further enhances the intensity.
ReplyDeleteThis chocolate is as its name suggests: excellent.
wow! well bee, i think that proves it. lindt is better than green & blacks.
ReplyDeletethe end.
blimey! i'm clearly outdone on that one! i particularly like that the lindt director of taste uses the US spelling of 'flavour'...
ReplyDeleteOooo, I don't half fancy a flake.
